Avoid contact with eyes or genitals. Do not use this product for any skin infection other than a cold sore. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you:

Are unsure whether your skin infection is a cold sore
Have been told by your doctor that you have a weakened immune system
Have a cold sore that gets very severe

Does Zovirax Cold Sore Cream have any side effects?
Like all medications, Zovirax can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any of the following side effects while using this product you could be experiencing an allergic reaction and should stop use and seek medical assistance right away:

Swelling of the lips, face, eyelids, tongue, or throat
Difficulty breathing or swallowing
Wheezing
Other side effects you may experience include:

Mild burning or stinging, which will usually go away quickly
Redness, itching, drying or flaking of the skin
Skin rashes
Hives or wheals
