Vicks Sinex Soother is a nasal spray that can help to ease congestion in your blocked nose. It’s ideal for when you have a cold or rhinitis caused by an allergy, hay fever, or viral infection. Vicks Sinex Soother gets to work fast, working in just a few minutes and helping to ease congestion for up to 12 hours with each dose.
Is Vicks Sinex Soother right for me?
Can I use this nasal spray if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Vicks Sinex Soother. This spray should only be used at this time if you’ve been advised to do so by a medical professional.
Can I use this product if I’m taking other medication?
If you’re taking any other medication, including those you obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using Vicks Sinex Soother. This especially applies if you are already taking:
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) for depression or Parkinson’s disease, or have taken them within the past 2 weeks
Tricyclic antidepressants, e.g. amitriptyline, imipramine
Beta-blockers or high blood pressure medications
Medication for Parkinson’s disease, e.g. bromocriptine
When should this product not be used?
Vicks Sinex Soother is not suitable for use in children under the age of 12. Do not use this product if you are allergic to oxymetazoline hydrochloride or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not use this product if you have:
Acute heart disease or cardiac asthma
Increased eyeball pressure (narrow-angle glaucoma)
Had an operation to remove your pituitary gland
Inflamed skin or mucous membranes in your nostrils, or scabs in your nose
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you:
Have high blood pressure
Have heart disease, including angina
Have diabetes
Have thyroid problems
Enlarged prostate gland
Does Vicks Sinex Soother have any side effects?
Like all medications, Vicks Sinex Soother can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. These side effects include:
Sneezing
Dryness or irritation in the nose, mouth, or throat
Anxiety
Fatigue
Irritability
Disturbed sleep in children
Rapid heartbeat
Palpitations
Raised blood pressure
Blocked nose
Swelling of nasal lining
Headache
Nausea
Flushing
Rash
Visual disturbances
