What is Treathay Fexofenadine?

Treathay Fexofenadine is a hay fever treatment containing 120mg of the non-drowsy antihistamine fexofenadine hydrochloride. It can relieve hay fever symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose and itchy eyes.

Is Treathay Fexofenadine right for me?

Like all medicines, Treathay Fexofenadine may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:

Headaches
Drowsiness
Nausea
Dizziness

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.

Warnings
Treathay Fexofenadine may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if:

You have problems with your liver or kidneys
You are elderly
You have or have ever had heart problems

Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this medication.

If you are taking apalutamide to treat prostate cancer, it may decrease the effect of Treathay Fexofenadine.

Indigestion remedies containing aluminium and magnesium may lower the amount of medication absorbed by this product.

You should leave 2 hours between taking Treathay Fexofenadine and your indigestion remedy.

Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for children under 12 years old.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Treathay Fexofenadine should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by a medical professional to do so. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.

Driving and operating machinery
In some cases, Treathay Fexofenadine may cause you to feel dizzy or drowsy. If you are affected, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe enough to do so.
