What is Optrex Bloodshot Eye Drops?
Optrex Bloodshot Eye Drops is a treatment that temporarily reduces eye redness caused by minor eye irritation.
The drops are easy to apply and can relieve the irritating symptoms of bloodshot eyes.
Is Optrex Bloodshot Eye Drops right for me?
Like all medicines, Optrex Bloodshot Eye Drops may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects of this product may include:
Eye irritation
Eye pain
Nausea
Headaches
Dizziness
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Optrex Bloodshot Eye Drops may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:
You have glaucoma or any other eye disease
You have had eye surgery
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if:
You have depression
You have high blood pressure
You have heart disease
You have diabetes
You have a thyroid disorder
You have hardening and narrowing blood vessels
You experience eye pain or changes in your eyes
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before using this product.
You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking the following medication:
Digoxin
Quinidine
Tricyclic antidepressants
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
Antihypertensive medication
Other eye treatments
Age restrictions
This product is unsuitable for anyone under 12 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any new medicine.
Driving and operating machinery
This product may cause blurred vision. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe enough to do so.
