What is Hirudoid Gel?
Hirudoid Gel is used to relieve pain and inflammation on the skin alongside helping to heal the skin where inflammation of the veins and bruising has damaged it.
Is Hirudoid Gel right for me?
Hirudoid Gel may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Although rare, this product's only reported side effect is a rash in people with sensitive skin.
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Hirudoid Gel may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or:
If you have broken skin
On large areas of skin
Near sensitive areas e.g. mouth and eyes
This product is flammable. Keep it away from open flames and other ignition sources.
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before using this product.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any new medicine.

May cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how your body reacts to this treatment.
Do not take more than one tablet in any 24 hours.
This medicine must not be taken by women.
