Product Overview

What is Gina 10 Micrograms Vaginal Tablets?

Gina 10 Micrograms Vaginal Tablets are used to relieve vaginal dryness and irritation associated with menopause.

Is Gina 10 Micrograms Vaginal Tablets right for me?

Like all medicines, Gina may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects may include:

Headaches
Stomach pain
Vaginal bleeding, discharge or discomfort

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.

Stop using this product straight away and seek medical advice immediately if:

You expereince any new vaginal bleeding, spotting or itching
You have endometriosis, and your symptoms have come back
You develop a vaginal infection
You expereince painful swelling and redness of the legs, sudden chest pain and difficulty breathing
You experience yellowing of the skin or whites of your eyes (jaundice)
You experience a large rise in blood pressure. Symptoms may include headaches, tiredness and dizziness
Migraine-like headaches which happen for the first time

It is not known if Gina can be safely used in women who have had breast cancer in the past. Check your breasts regularly and speak to your healthcare provider if you notice any changes.

Ovarian cancer is rare. However, the use of oestrogen-only systemic HRT has been associated with a slightly higher risk of ovarian cancer.

The risk of developing a blood clot in your veins is 1.3-3 times higher in systemic HRT users than non-users, especially during the first year. Blood clots can be serious, and if one travels to the lungs, it can cause chest pain, breathlessness, fainting and can even be fatal.

The risk of having a stroke is about 1.5 times higher in HRT users than non-users. The risk increases slightly with age.

There is evidence to suggest that women who start using HRT after the age of 65 might be at higher risk of experiencing memory loss.
