What is Clarityn Allergy Syrup?
Clarityn Allergy Syrup is a mixed berry flavoured medicine suitable for children suffering with hay fever or other allergies. This sugar-free liquid suspension contains the antihistamine loratadine, providing 24-hour relief from sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes and hives (nettle rash). This medicine is not suitable for children under the age of 2.
Is Clarityn Allergy Syrup right for me?
You should not use Clarityn Allergy Syrup if you are allergic to loratadine or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. You should not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Clarityn Allergy Syrup if you have liver disease or if you’re scheduled to have any skin tests for allergies. Do not take Clarityn Allergy Syrup for two days before having these tests, as it may affect the test results.
If you have an intolerance to some sugars, including hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI), speak to your doctor before taking this medicine.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist before taking Clarityn Allergy Syrup if you are taking any other medicines or herbal remedies, including those obtained without a prescription.
Are there any side effects?
Like all medicines, Clarityn Allergy Syrup could cause side effects, but these are usually mild and won’t affect everyone. Common side effects include:
Drowsiness
Headache
Increased appetite
Difficulty sleeping
Nervousness
Tiredness

May cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how your body reacts to this treatment.
Do not take more than one tablet in any 24 hours.
This medicine must not be taken by women.
