What is Benadryl Allergy 10mg One a Day Tablets?
Benadryl Allergy contains the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride, a type of non-drowsy antihistamine. If you’re struggling with allergies such as hay fever, pet, dust or skin allergens, taking an antihistamine can effectively help to relieve your symptoms.
Is Benadryl Allergy 10mg One a Day Tablets right for me?
If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking Benadryl Allergy. If you are breastfeeding, you should not take Benadryl Allergy as the active ingredient, cetirizine dihydrochloride, will pass into your breast milk.
Does cetirizine dihydrochloride cause drowsiness?
Benadryl Allergy contains the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride which may cause some people to feel drowsy. You should not drive or use heavy machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.
When should this product not be used?
Benadryl Allergy may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to cetirizine dihydrochloride, hydroxyzine, piperazine or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not take these tablets if you have serious kidney problems. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you are epileptic or at risk of convulsions (fits).
Are there any side effects?
Like all medicines, Benadryl Allergy may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. Common side effects include:
Headache
Dizziness
Drowsiness
Restlessness
Dry mouth
Sore throat
Upset stomach
Abdominal pain
Diarrhoea
Nausea
Runny nose
